Weekly Blog #3 : 1st LINNER! (8/21-8/25)
This week... --- π€―π€―
... we had yearbook picture taking on multiple days and we had open house and linner! I worked on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday! Also today is the first week when us 7th graders had all periods on Friday. Honestly, I never thought that time would go by so fast… In my first period, social studies, the substitute was a few minutes late… I forgot her name though, but it started with an R. Anyway… in social studies we were doing our assigned work on google classroom BUT as I just finished and began to do my one pager of Lono and Makahiki, our sub decided to show us some examples of the one pager from the other periods!! I found out…I was doing my one pager wrong for THE ENTIRE TIME!! I didn’t know that there was a certain way to do the one pager! The directions only said to draw a picture and add quotes, a title, and summary… I didn’t know we had to draw a diamond to draw our picture in and write in the corners. But at least I know what to do now… Another thing that occurred this week was that in AVID, we started doing MEDITATION... it was literally so awkward. There was this one kid who was breathing heavily and began to gradually get louder and louder. Seriously . . . I don't even know if they were a girl or boy anymore! I had mistaken two people as girls but turns out, they were actually guys! Crazy. . . In addition to doing meditation during AVID, Mrs. Scarborough was walking around barefoot. . . Now I know what Biaanishy meant when she asked me if she was barefoot. Another thing that took place this week was that we presented our bio cubes. Compared to last time, my volume got somewhat better. At least everyone can hear me now instead of not hearing me at all. However, as I was presenting, I kept thinking of random things and forgetting what I was saying. . . I really need to start making sure I know what I'm going to say when I start sharing. I had almost forgotten to mention. . . ME AND MY FRIEND SIGNED UP FOR STRICTLY ILL!! I was originally stressing over which club I should join but I ended up settling on joining Strictly Ill. I'm really excited for Strictly Ill! Overall, this week was really great! I got lots of photos and made lots of great memories. Luckily, no major bad things really happened this week which is great.
Now let's move to my highlights of this week. --
This week, my biggest highlights would be open house and Linner. For Linner we had kalua pig, and it was really good except majority of the class said they felt very full and sick afterwards. . . During open house, Reese and I went to go greet the parents who were entering campus. However, the side we were on, no parents went to our side. However, me and Reese got to watch these people throwing these fake "guns" in the air and catching them. I forgot what they were called but it was pretty cool if I'm being honest. After we were done for the day, me and everyone else decided to roam campus since we weren't leaving until 7:15 and it was only 5:50. It was really fun since I hung out with Mal. Me and Mal raced but Mal won (obviously lol) Cassell was running with us too, but he stopped right after we started. Later on, me and Mal went into one of the science classes. I forgot the teachers name but Me, Mal, Alex, Jewelyn, Reese, and Jayna got to help with this cup challenge. I reminded me of the marker game we played with the strings during bridge. Next, we just roamed around campus and took pictures. 'Ilima looks so cool during sunset. It really looks prettier around sunset. Later on, around 6:00, me and Mal went to 711. I bought Mal a furreal that was chocolate flavored or something. . .but she thought it was ice cream. . . she even ate it with a spoon. That surprised me a bit! But Mal is just special like that. After we made it back to campus and I had to leave. Open house and Linner were really fun. It was really a Terrific Thursday!
Now let's proceed to my lowlights.
This current week was great and all, but it had quite the number of lowlights too. . .But one of the major lowlights of this week was science class. Science class has gotten alright throughout this week. I was dreading it since science is DEFINITELY not my strong suit. If anything, I'd call it my weakness. Anyway, during science class, we had homework, but I had forgotten to do it and we had to REVIEW. Ultimately, it's my fault for forgetting. . . Anyway, during science, this guy in front of me, kept . . . farting and saying weird things. I'm never sitting behind him again. Also, we had to go outside during one of my science classes and uh. . . it was interesting. . . but not in a good way. We were doing observations and people were eating stuff on the floor, eating the plants, and even licking it. . . If they get sick, I'm literally going to laugh. To top off my science class, we have a test and I seriously got to study or I'm going to fail.
. . . is that I should really do my science homework. I swear if we had a science test this week Friday, I would've failed already. Seriously. . . but I've been taking notes on post its and pasting them into my notebook, so I just need to go over those notes and read articles. Hopefully I pass that review. . . passing score is 6 out of 10! I should be fine as long as I study! Good luck me. Don't fail on your first quiz!!
