Weekly Blog #21 : INTERVIEWS + MORE! (01-22/ 01-26)
This week... — πππ
was quite the experience! to start off...Interviews!! On Monday, I had my interview! I literally brought an iPad and my ukulele! I spent allat of time practicing my ukulele and my presentation! Interviews were really entertaining!! Also, I finally figured out who those other people on the interview thingy were! It was Cherish and Valerie (i think thats how u spell their names) but anyways I've only talked to them once so I'm not sure. . . Tuesday and Wednesday gave us another taste of extra energy. Which is understandable because the Yearbook deadline is right around the corner and the 7th graders (myself included) weren't really looking at the "bigger picture" We were too busy thinking about our priorities instead of recognizing what needs to be done, what we can do to contribute and including everyone to get it done and so that we could all move forward. In summary, us 7th graders need to get our act together.! Movoing on...Mrs. Miya told me at the end of the week that leadership kids in 7-3 had been missing the cheer off practices! She told me at beginning of second quarter and I realized that I didn't even put it in my calendar... HOLY. anyways so Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays is when they have cheer off practices at advisory. Spirit week is coming up soon so I need to plan out what days us 7-3 kids could go and how it'll work... Well next thing! We had a sub in avid on thursday! it was Mr. Perez (if thats how u spell his name) and he like...didn't do anything the entire period so avid was basically a free period! But people were pulling my hair in avid..(yeowuch!) im pretty sure you don't gotta pull someones head ALL THE WAY back to tie their hair... Also this week in social studies we're finishing up our plantation notes (hooray! yk its actually kinda fun!) and the science project is finally done! (I HATE MARS!) anyways we also tried the new curriculum in ELA this week. Tbh its not that bad...its about facing challenges (which is something I really like.) but it was like spring board all over againnn...Also this week we had family nite!! for science! sadly Alex, Me, Mal, and Jayden had to work at the snack booth because we weren't allowed to work at the fire snake or the air pressure can crusher because it was a bit dangerous! There were some silly little kids and it was so funny when mal told them to grab as much as they want and those kids literally SNATCHED everything! We also made a silly little sign that said "free snacks" because people were hesitant to grab snacks! (alex kept calling it homeless but whtbr) Then on friday we got our results on our interviews. We practically all got it! HOORAY! and in addition I heard that there might be new people in pd 3..??? thats pretty crazy...but its undetermined because I'm somewhat unsure and it all depends on what those two choose! Oh oh and we had a lockdown and literally if there was a school shooting actually happening I think that all the 7th graders in the cafe would definetly be dead...LIKE IMAGINE FILMING IG LIVES AND TAKING SELFIES...while people are like dying???? crazy crazy.
Highlights... —
Quite a few highlights!! Let's start off with interviews! Interviews were really nerve-racking! The interview wasn't scary at all! Jayna is so funny trying to scare all the 7th graders! BUt anyways I was pretty excited for my interview...like Idk why whenever something that other people find super scary or feel super nervous about, I mostly feel excited for it...Maybe it's just me trying to not feel nervous lol! Another highlight of this week is that math has been so easy so far like I'm actually serious!! Simplifying expressions is actually not even that bad brooo...Another highlight of this week is Family nite! This entire week i've had to go straight home and like its so tiring because I don't get a chance to hang out with mal or jaydin or joolin or basically anyone...and i just sit there waiting for my mom to arrive...(i literally look homelesss) but anwayas family nite finally gave me an opportunity to hang out with people! I also went to mcdonalds with Naomi and Jayna! (THANK YOU FOR THE SINGULAR COOKIE JAYNA!!!! YOURE THE BEST) and i got a cookie and shared fries with jayna. Naomi was so silly tryna eat alex's fries and kept wondering if she'd notice! Another highlight of the week is that I talked with my dad this weekend. It's so difficult trying to find moments to talk to my dad lately...like when he gets home at like 11 PM - 2 AM, and stays up. he mostly sleeps late and when I wake up on weekdays and I leave for school at 7 AM, he's sleeping and I don't get the opportunity to talk to him since he leaves for work right when I get out of school...We mostly talked about shows and he always has the craziest stories to tell me about work! One time he told me about this guy who took his lunch and instead of getting mad he decided to talk story with the guy and they ended up becoming friends....and that guy turned out to be my uncle...WHICH IS CRAZYY LMAOOO!
Lowlights... —
QUITE A LOT LOLS! This week was my interview but as I look back on it...I feel like there were some questions I could've answered better. You know when you do something but then you look back and realized that..."oh I made a mistake here...I should've done this...I shoulda said that..." YOU KNOW!! but it is what it is. All I can focus on now is trying to do better if I ever do it again or just apply what I learned from my mistakes to something else. Another Lowlight was that I couldn't really comfort Alex when she was crying. I should've done something but what? I tried to make her better by making her laugh but on Friday when she cried, I couldn't even make eye contact with her. . . sigh. Anyway, another lowlight of this week was Tuesday and Wednesday. Not only was it because there was extra energy, my eyes were hurting and felt so dry on those days...Like I also forgot to eat a bit sooo I had a headache majority of the day. Another lowlight of this week is that we had a lockdown...It was lowkey pretty annoying because I was just eating lunch and then BOOM! A swarm of people come flowing in and stuff...like what the heck?! Whats going on...??? Anyways it was pretty stupid... like for one, I was stuck in the cafe and basically it was wild. there was screaming, and so many people swearing, someone even gave out a confession telling me their "will" and their crush....Another lowlight of this week is my sciences presentation... DUDE I HOPE I GET AN A BC I LITERALLY WAS FREAKING OUT...first of all everyone did presentations..(i forgot we could) and my group was the only group who presented on the white board in the back...Lol ig..?
Lessons Learned ... —
I learned a lot of lessons this week. A LOT. Another one was that some decisions need to be made even if people disagree with you or believe you could've acted differently. Another thing I learned is that I need to stay off social media more honestly... Idk I just say it's a waste of time which I really do believe but I still go on it anyway...I'm going to start putting time limits on stuff. I learned that looking at the bigger picture is important...not the small aspects of things. We need to fix our priorities and keeping our eyes on the goal. We need to Figure out what we can do as a team and how we can include everyone in the things we do to move forward and basically how we can contribute as a whole and figure out where our flaws lie and how we can solve them.
Favorite Magic Note ... —
My favorite magic note has to be...JOOLIN!! I swear I know I already said before that joolin's magic notes make me feel so happy and she always finds out how to write so much in such a short period of time. I really love how unique joolin's magic notes are. Anyways This week really was craayzee! I really love how she says I'm a hard worker...! She also says that despite the hard work I do I'm also one of the most silliest people she knows. I also really love her little imagination thing she put at the end of the magic note! ITS SO SILLY I LITERALLY IMAGINED THEM WITH PARTY HATS.
