QB1: SEASON 1, PART 1 - END - π
THIS QUARTER:: π©Ήπ©Ή
- was went by pretty fast! just like last year! Anyways Throughout this quarter, I finally got to understand what it was like for my 8th graders when us seventh graders started out. Anyways to start off the quarter, introduction to jobs! Ids, Music, and TV!! Anyways this quarter was mostly teaching the 7th graders the ropes to each job and refreshing my own memory of each job. Especially, TV. But with like months of experiences of doing box, I don't really get that nervous feeling doing box anymore. It's more calm and just sorta oh, I gotta do this and this and kaboom! Another thing that I really wanna mention is the fact that during our sharing of our biocubes, when we had to share in the different areas, I really was surprsied with my progress! Especially when I shared on the stage, because last year I remember fighting with the "external forces" like the air planes and the wind.. but Seeing that they could hear me clearly this year, made me pretty proud. Something big I would mention here is learning about my new teachers/ Mr. Damo, Mrs. Acob, Mrs. Mili, and Mrs. Doles. I really miss our teachers from 7th grade still.. like I mean my teachers currently but I still really miss Mrs Chen and Mr Cole.. YK!!?? But I'm glad Dr. Heloca decided to stay with us instead of staying in 7th grade. ALSO MRS CHEN SAID SHE REGRETS STAYING IN 7TH. like yes mrs chen I miss u sooo much... sigh.. but I like visiting her classroom and mrs. miya's when I get the timee. Some afterschool events that hapened this quarter, was openhouse and family nite. Openhouse was pushed back and honestly I was pretty sad about not working that night because I really had nothing else to do lol. But it was fun following anela and meeting her family (theyre so nice) and talking to cassell, marsali, cherish and cheyanne, and oblibuh. Family nite kinda stressed me out a slight bit at the start because of the sorting of the jobs, making sure each 7th grader knew what to do, making sure each station had a person. I'm glad one of the stalls wasn't there lol cause I wouldn't know what I'd do. Also my job for family nite was the "Fill it up!" it was an activity for math, where you basically fill up a pyramid and a cylinder with beans to compare linear and nonlinear equations. The pyramid would be nonlinear because it doesn't keep a constant shape and the cylinder would be linear because it keeps a consistent shape. Anyways another major thing that happened this quarter was flag football. I will never miss flag football. But I had fun learning more about the 7th graders and even bonding even more with the 8th graders as we chatted for time to go by. Also as SBG, me and the other SBG got to go to cross country at Honouliuli.. I DIDN"T KNOW THEIR MASCOT WAS A BIRD. I thought it was a dinosaur. plus I think I mentioned that last year. ANYWAYS I also went to ewa makai and I GOT A PICTURE WITH THEIR MASCOT LMAOO// (which turned out to be my friend in the costume...?!?) Also I gott o see my friend Ava who I miss very much. ANyways I KEEP FORGETTING TO SIGN UP FOR FISHING BUT I WILL OVER BREAK. ANYWAYS ALSO IM EXCITED FOR RETREAT!!!!!!!
HIGHTLIGHTS & LOWLIGHTS::
- Everytime I got to work music has to be a highlight because I ABSOLUTELY LOVE HAVING MUSIC FOR MORNING JOBS. especially working at recess because well you get to play more upbeat and "awake" songs. I GOT TO PLAY FROZEN, MULAN, NINJAGO?@??!!@! speaking of ninjago, thats one of my biggest highlgihts too of this quarter. So how it all started? well basically I stumbled upon a video called, "The ninjago storyline so far" and the thumbnail saying, "go catch up with ninjago you loser" and well so I did. AND HOLY MOLY I LITERALLY WATCHED LIKE THE FIRST 10 SEASONS IN LIKE TWO DAYS. THEN AFTER I WATCHED ALL OF 11-15 (season) and lIKE I GOT SOO MAD AT HOW THE ANIMATION AND STORYTELLING LIKE DROPPED (i blame the new writer. i blame all the new writers) and like I decided to make my own rewrite and I even made new designs / modifcations. AND LITEARALLY I SPENT MORE THAN $80 ON NINJAGO LEGO SETS. (dragons rising + some old sets) anyway also ninjago like blasted the roof on my brain into the sky because I have never been so motivated to draw WEEZER. ITS NOT EVEN FUNNY ANYMORE BECAUSE I DON"T KNOW WHY I DO THINGS IN RANDOM BURSTS OF ENERGY. I even watched almost every lego movie (i think(?) anyways and after I finsihed dragon's rising, well first heres my opinon on dragons rising, its something. I like how they're divulding in deeper things like mental health all that but seeing how long ninjago has been going on for, it's kinda understandable they had to make all these changes becuase these main characters have had their stories SCREEEETCCCHHED out until they can't anymore. Okay anyway I need to shut up because soon i'll be talking about sonic and persona 5 and literally I won't shut up........ AJSAHDJKASHDAS ANother highlight is the birthdays this quarter. HAPPY BIRRTHDYA TO YOU ALL! A finally major highlight, I've been focus on my guitar a lot and I really have lots of fun playing it like I learned a couple of songs, I'm still learning everlong... why it's taking long? well 1. Rythm and accenting, those two things together are things I absolutely suck at... well as I listen to the recording over and over again, i notice the strumming changes like 4 times at the start :sob: but then it makes sense cause this song is more of a feel thing.. anyways I'll get it soon I've been praticing it for a bit. LOWLIGHT TIME! I hate math like this quarter my grade honestly never dropped from an A but like still The amount of hours I spend studying just to end up with a C.. i mean it's not bad.. but I COULD"VE DONE BETTER. Another lowlight is MR DAMO'S WORKLOAD. Like.. wydm we have a google doc with 42 questions...and NHD. Honestly I have my own thoughts that I won't share but all I can say, please be on it and put the work in.
LESSONS LEARNED::
- dont rush things, sometimes we rush things when theres no reason to. For example, observing. you don't need to rush into things, or plant information in already. You're observing for a reason. you're not there to make major changes unless you need to. Anyways this quarter really helped me learn about the 7th graders and honestly grow stronger bonds! But I feel like sometimes people rush into things but then thats only because they don't remember how they were taught. That's another lesson I've learned don't forget how you were taught. Don't forget how patient our 8th graders were with us even if they had problems with us that they would discuss behind closed doors. Anyways Another thing I learned is that never put off until tomroow what can be done today. Starting of 6th grade and 7th, i've been the type of person who likes to get things done, not really in order but just get it off my shoulders. Which I have been succeeding at lately, but there have been days that I pushed things back it just bites my in the back. Which I want to improve on. Another thing I learned, BE CONFIDENT IN YOUR ABILITIY. Sometimes I have to remember I have a year of experience in this program under my belt. I know how things should go, I know what things should be avoided, I know how sometimes small things affect the bigger picture, I have lots of expereince and lessons learned from last year. I need to be confident in the things that I can do now. My final lesson I learned, you can't keep running from your problems. Lately things have been kind of rough with my dad going on far trips for work. I have double maybe even triple the responsibilitiy at home too and Sometimes I need to take breaks I know that but using all these things as some sort of escapism won't help me if I don't face the problem directly and confront it to solve it.
COMPARED TO LAST YEAR::
Comparing this to last year has huge differences. First of all, instead of being a 7th grader, I’m an 8th grader now. It took pretty long to get used to but majority of things feel the same. Back to differences, one of the major differences from last year is that now I understand what it was like for our 8th graders when they were teaching us. That’s another one too, instead of learning about the jobs, we’re teaching the 7th graders about the jobs. BAsically roles reversed! I honestly don't think it's pretty bad but sometimes I find myself growing less motivated than last year. Which honestly is expected with how I've gone through a year of this program but reflecting and thinking about the reason I do things, it motivates me more. Compared to last year, I knew mostly nothing of what to expect. (problems and accidents, mistakes, what events are like, etc) Now this year, I know what to expect, I know all the ropes and I know what'll need to be done. This year I need to fufill my purpose / reason for joining again.
