Retreat Blog 2023 🪼 : WATCH OUT!! (10/11-10/13)
Summary… — 🦀🦀
Retreat these past few days pretty enjoyable despite all the heat…LITERALLY SWEATING SO MUCH!! Anyways…carrying all my stuff was a handful…I was carrying MY ENTIRE HOUSE!! On the first day, Period 1 & 3 did our chop…Period 1 were literally improvising since they couldn’t make their deep fried Oreos! Meanwhile my period was…erm.. I looked like I was playing with dirt… The day afterwards, we did synchronized swimming and Period 5 did their CHOP. I literally LOVED period 1’s Cheer and Swimming. I really liked my period’s one too. Also Period 5 made Churros. I also had really silly and imaginative convos with people. Like mutant frogs vs mutant birds? ROOSTERS WITH BUTTERFLY WINGS!! I enjoyed ranting and letting my brain yap at night…even though Mal was a bit eepy, I’m glad she remembered parts of it. Sleeping was so crazy..ALEX SAID I WAS CONTORTING ….Jewelyn was traveling too!! Then I swam also!! But I slid down..free water slide I guess! We found lots of dead crabs and did lots of exploring around. And lastly!! Me and Mal let each other have each others clothes for a few weeks! The 8th graders wrote on a stone and hid it from the 7th graders! I really want to find it next year if I go retreat.
Highlights & Lowlights…—
One of my highlights is magic notes. During Retreat us 7th graders had our introduction to magic notes. Magic Notes are so fun to write! I had a great time writing magic notes to everyon! I’d say the next highlight of retreat was planing things or brainstorming for like door decor and recognition nite. It was great using creativity to come up with things like “Snow Ball Shootout” for recognition nite. My final highlight is was our reflection or our first session of retreat. My period got to talk about our individual pros and cons. Things we could improve on…so on so on!!! Moving on to lowlights… MAL AND MARK GOT STUNG BY A MAN O’ WOR..even though the two have battle scars, I can’t believe that it stung Mal!! (Aka my fav :3) Anywhos.. another one of my lowlights is that my period never won CHOP or Synchronized Swimming…But on the bright side, Period 1’s Cowboys were so HILARIOUS!! My last lowlight is the fact that I like almost lost my voice after our talent show….I sounded super sillay!
Lesson(s) Learned…—
is that creativity is a great thing but when you brainstorm, you have to consider many other factors. Like coming up for themes for recognition nite we had to consider things like, when it was happening, was there food, is it realistic and do-able? Another lesson I learned was Leadership really impacts a lot. We do things for others despite not wanting to do them. Flag football was a good example. Overall, retreat was eventful, exhausting, and exhilarating.
